Ellis Secures QLD Ballet Refurbishment at West End

This project will entail a complete refurbishment of the existing heritage listed Thomas Dixon Centre creating four studios, a café, a wellness centre and administration areas. In addition to the refurbishment works, a new building extension will include rehearsal studios, a 350-400 seat Performance Studio, workshops, dressing rooms, basement and roof top terrace bars and two levels of car parking.

“The proposed redevelopment will create a world-class performing arts facility with an inspirational environment that will enable peak performance and nurture creativity,” – Queensland Ballet.

Ellis Air’s mechanical services involvement includes:

  • A centralised chilled water system with primary and secondary circuits to serve different areas of the facility.
  • Air distribution systems include air handling equipment with heat recovery, Economy Cycles, UV filtration and a combination of concealed and exposed ductwork.
  • Building Management System for control and energy management of all systems in the buildings.

The completed project will achieve a Platinum standard according to the WELL Building Standard, with a 5 Star NABERS rating and LOD 500 BIM Rating.

We look forward to working with Hansen Yuncken to bring it all together.
