Upper West Side – Stage 2

The Upper West Side precinct, located adjacent Southern Cross Station, will boast four towers with over 2000 apartments in total. Ellis Air Conditioning is currently on site installing the mechanical services systems for Stage 2 of the development. The development contains a 7 level podium with rooftop gardens, barbeque areas, swimming pools and gymnasium enables, with Stage 2 comprising a 51 story tower. Ellis Air Conditioning will work on design and construct of the mechanical services systems which, upon completion, will achieve a 4 Star Australian Greenhouse Building Rating with the apartments meeting a 6 star design rating on average.

Collins Square Tower 4 (VIC)

Tower 4 is located in the South West Corner of the Collins Square Precinct which will eventually consist of 5 Commercial Towers (over 200,000m2 NLA) sitting above a Retail Podium of over 10,000m2. Tower 4 itself is a 5 Star Green Star (Design & As-Built), 5 Star NABERS, 21 story Commercial Office Building consisting of 15 Levels of office space (approx. 40,000m2 NLA).  Carpark and Retail areas are provided within the buildings Podium areas. Ellis Air Conditioning have been engaged to provide heating, cooling & ventilation to the new Tower & Podium, consisting of Central Chilled & Heating Water Plant, VAV Air Handling systems, Natural Gas fired Microturbine Trigeneration Plant, etc.

Yarra's Edge Tower 6 (Array)

Mirvac's Yarra's Edge Tower 6 is located in the Docklands consists of 205 residential lots and includes a 40 story tower as well as 5 levels of podium. The podium buiding consists of terrace style apartments as well as retail, cafes, carpark and a gymnasium while the tower consists of upmarket residential apartments. Ellis were engaged to provide the heating, cooling & ventilation systems to the building.  The air conditioning is a mix of air cooled split units serving the podium apartments and water sourced package units serving the tower apartments.

Melbourne University - FABP

The new UoM Faculty of Architecture, Building and Planning Building opened in August, 2014 comprising 6 levels spead over 17,488m2.  The building design was a collaboration between John Wardle Architects and NADAAA from Boston.  Brookfield Multiplex were the head contractor on the project and among the many design feats of the project, it was awarded a 6 star Green Star rating.  The project was the first to be awarded with all 10 innovation points available under the Green Star rating system. Ellis Air Conditioning installed the Mechanical Services on the project which included a central chilled water plant, cooling towers, district heating, DOAS air handling systems with rotarty heat exchangers, over 150 fan coil units and VAV systems all to the high quality aesthetical appearance that is expected from a new school of architecture at one of Melbourne's most prestigious educational facilities.

501 Swanston Street Podium

The 501 Swanston Street Project consists of 6 new podium Levels adjoining the existing 501 Swanston Street Building.  The floors of the existing tower that adjoin the new structure will also be refurbished as part of the works. Brookfield Multiplex will relocate their Melbourne corporate headquarters to the new building on completion and the other floors will be home to a new Maserati showroom and dealership, a new Lamborghini showroom and dealership & a new Audi showroom and dealership. Ellis Air Conditioning have also been engaged to replace the existing central plant serving the 501 Swanston Street Office Tower.

33 MacKenzie Street

33 MacKenzie Street is a residential development of 396 one and two bedroom apartments situated over 31 levels. The development also comprises car parks to the rear of the site and retail components. Ellis Air Conditioning successfully installed and commissioned reverse cycle split system air conditioning to all apartments and common areas including building entry lobby, corridors and gymnasium. Natural gas supply pipework was installed to each apartment serving the gas cooktops. Toilet and kitchen exhaust systems were provided to all apartments as well as ventilation systems to all back of house areas. All mechanical services systems were successfully commissioned by Ellis Air Conditioning for handover in August 2012.

The Quays

Developed by MAB and designed by award winning architects The Quays will no doubt be one of Docklands most iconic developments. Comprising over 600 apartments Ellis Air Conditioning has been engaged to provide air conditioning and ventilation systems to the retail, restaurants, gymnasium, Residents Club, car park, hotel and the two residential towers. With reverse cycle split systems being installed in each apartment living area and most bedrooms Ellis Air Conditioning will install nearly 1000 air conditioners at The Quays. Construction of The Quays development was successfully completed in November 2013.

570 Bourke St Office Extension

The 570 Bourke Street Office Redevelopment will see an additional 15,550m2 of Grade A office space added to the existing 35,000m2 building by adding an 11 Story Podium taking the building out to the street frontage on the North and South.  The existing office floorplate from Levels 2 to 11 will be encompassed in the new podium extending the NLA on these floors to 2,700m2 which is one of Melbourne's largest office NLA floorplates.  The new extension also aims to continue the Building owner, Charter Hall's, push to lift the building's NABERS rating from 2.5 stars to 4.5 stars.   

2 Riverside Quay (VIC)

The 2 Riverside Quay Project in Southbank is a commercial office development atop an existing open deck carpark.  In total an additional 12 Levels will be built on top of the 8 story carpark with approximately 20,000m2 (NLA) of commercial Grade A office space created. Ellis Air Conditioning have been engaged to provide the Mechanical Services to the project which includes the provision of central chilled water & heating water plant, variable air volume air handling systems, ventilation and smoke management systems.

EQ Tower (VIC)

EQ Tower is a 200m+ 65 Story Residential Apartment Tower with over 600 Apartments, multi-level car park, ground floor retail tenancies and residents facilities including a 25-metre outdoor swimming pool and BBQ area, indoor gym, sauna, spa, private dining rooms, karaoke suites, cinema, games room and lounges. Ellis Air Conditioning have been appointed as the Mechanical Service Contractor for the works and will provide water cooled VRF systems to the apartments complete with associated central plant (Cooling Towers, Boilers, Pumps, etc.). Apartment ventilation is also to be provided by Ellis Air, as is the heating, ventilation and air conditioning to the Retail & Common Areas.

Prima Pearl

Located in Melbourne’s Southbank precinct this new apartment complex has recently begun construction. Comprising indoor swimming pool, spa, sauna, gymnasium, private cinema, virtual golf driving range and level 67 sky lounge this landmark building is set to dominate the city skyline. Ellis Air Conditioning has been engaged to install high quality ducted air conditioning to the 650+ apartments plus all common areas including office tenancies and amenities areas and exhaust / ventilation systems to all the apartment bathrooms, laundries and kitchens as well as the building back of house areas. Project completion is expected in 2015.

Rialto Plaza Regeneration (VIC)

The Rialto Plaza Regeneration Project will provide an extensive upgrade of the existing Forecourt and Plaza area through the construction of 2 new low rise buildings adjacent to the existing Rialto Towers. The new buildings will be predominately commercial office space (approximately 5,500m2 NLA) with some Retail (approximately 2,000m2) at Ground Level to capitalize on the prominent King St & Collins St frontages.  The Office space will be in line with the Property Council of Australia's Premium Grade Office design conditions and is aiming to achieve both a 5 Star Green Star Rating as well as a 5 Star NABERS rating.  Ellis Air Conditioning have been engaged to provide heating, cooling and ventilation to the new buildings as well as some modifications and upgrades to various areas within the existing Rialto Towers buildings.
